A community open to all
At OCHS, we welcome anyone and everyone who is interested in learning the historical fighting techniques. Our lessons are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for students of all levels, from beginners to experienced martial artists.
We believe that the study of these ancient arts is not only a rewarding physical and mental challenge, but also a way to connect with the rich history of swordsmanship. Our club is a welcoming and inclusive community, and we invite you to join us and discover the joy of historical fencing.
From Historical Sources
Our lessons are based on historical treatises dating to the late-medieval and early-modern periods, providing a curriculum rooted in authentic techniques of war. Through the study of the longsword and other weapons, as well as the principles of combat and defense, we offer a glimpse into the history and martial cultures of these eras.
Safety is our Priority
At OCHS safety is our top priority. We take great care to ensure that our lessons and training sessions are conducted in a safe and controlled environment. Our experienced instructors have years of sword fighting experience and are dedicated to providing a fun and safe learning experience for all our students.
